Still on the Wrong Side of Victory

Written by SP Roulers at 16:07 10/10-2023

But getting closer with each race.

  He's just not experience enough.

Henk Ainscough has the potential to be a good sprinter, and an upcoming star to lead our team forward. His strong sprint stats, and with potential still left to train (TT and maybe some FR with luck). He could already be great, but today was yet again a near miss. He is capable of top 10's, and today was a 4th, but with top form, he could have done better. He should have done better. But maybe he's still not experienced enough. He's only had 16 races in his career after all.

The team is going to now focus on building his experience, as best and as fast as possible. He has talent, he has potential, he just needs to know how to win races. From now on, win or loose, we will give Ainscough more chance at victory. From now on, he is our captain; no longer Skopal.

Ainscough is the most valuable rider by some margain the team has trained, almost at a 100k valuation, and he'll only get better. We have a leader, he just needs more chances to lead.

But there is also another now too.

Our scouts uncovered what we believe to someday be potential GC talent. It's not a direction the team is aimed for at the moment, but Don Percy has all the potential of a future superstar. Very good potential in climbing, good in downhill and TT, with some potential in just about every other stat except cobbles. But he doesn't fit our team. He's only 20 this season, so he has plenty of growth to come, but it's left us with a tough decision moving forward: Sell Percy for a quick profit, or develop him into a superstar within our team, and adapt the team when he is ready to lead.

  Decisions to make.

Decisions that make or break a good manager.

Looks more like a great climber talent than a tour talent to me.

SP Roulers at 11:53 11/10-2023
Give me a good offer, and he might be for sale.

  I should buy Percy ;)
